The 2021 Subaru Outback in Auburn CA

The 2021 Subaru Outback Is Ready for a Challenge

The Subaru Outback has so much going for it. It's versatile, capable, and equipped with high-tech amenities. Affordability is another one of its qualities, and all of these things drive a lot of Sacramento and Roseville area customers to our dealership. Join us at our Subaru dealership in Auburn for a test drive in the Outback SUV that's caught your eye.

Performance

The Outback comes with two available engines. Both of them have four cylinders, but the difference is that one is turbocharged. On the lower trims, there's a 2.5-liter engine that delivers over 180 horsepower. On the higher trims, the turbocharged engine takes horsepower to 260 and increases torque output from 176 pound-feet of torque to 277 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of your choice, you'll have a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission and Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive. This drivetrain is always engaged, ready to make adjustments whenever there seems to be a problem with traction. Traction issues aren't limited to when it's snowy or icy; All-Wheel-Drive can also improve performance when the roads are slick from the rain or when you're taking turns at higher speeds.

If you plan on towing cargo around the Nevada City, CA area, you'll be able to count on your Outback. An Outback with the 2.5-liter engine can tow up to 2,700 pounds. This towing capacity is increased to 3,500 pounds in the models that have the turbo engines.

Trim Levels

At Gold Rush Subaru, we carry seven trims, ranging from the practical base model to the upscale Touring XT. In between, there are a lot of solid options.

The base model has EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which we'll detail below, and it has a touchscreen with smartphone compatibility. In the Premium, the infotainment system is enhanced with a larger touchscreen, and there are LED fog lights. The Limited takes things a step further with 18-inch wheels, leather seats, and a hands-free power rear gate, and the Touring is more upscale with a power moonroof, chrome details, and front seats that are heated and ventilated.

On the higher end of the spectrum, there are the Onyx Edition XT, Limited XT, and Touring XT. These are the models that host more powerful engines. With the Onyx Edition XT, there are StarTex seats, crystal black side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and black 18-inch wheels. The Limited XT will treat you to a heated steering wheel and navigation, and the Touring XT tops the lineup with Nappa leather seats and a 180-degree front-view monitor.

Interior

You'll definitely be comfortable in a Subaru Outback. It has over 42 inches of legroom in the front row and nearly 40 inches of legroom in the back. The cargo area is spacious, with a volume of 32.5 cubic feet. Of course, you can fold the seats down when you need to make more room. From the driver's seat, you'll appreciate having paddle shifters and controls mounted on your steering wheel. Having multiple USB ports is useful when you and your passengers all want to charge your devices, and the storage compartments placed around the cabin are convenient.
