Subaru Safety

Subaru knows that safety is one of the most important features a new vehicle has to offer and the Outback is constantly named as one of the safest vehicles on the road, let alone its class. The Outback is built from the ground up with safety in mind starting with the Subaru Global Platform which uses more high-strength steel for a strong frame. The BOXER engine placement is designed to break away from the drivetrain and push under the cabin and not impede on front occupants. The Outback also has a long list of standard and available safety features that monitor the road around you and alerts to you approaching danger.

  • Standard:Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, EyeSight Driver Assist Technology: Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Sway Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, and Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Rearview Camera
  • Available:LED Steering Responsive Headlights, Reverse Automatic Braking, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Subaru STARLINK Safety & Security

The Subaru Outback has two powertrain options and a number of standard performance features for a thrilling and efficient driving experience. The standard engine is a 2.5L four-cylinder BOXER engine with 175 horsepower and up to 32 highway mpg. The second powertrain is the available 3.6L six-cylinder BOXER engine that produces 256 horsepower. The BOXER engine is unique to Subaru. The horizontal design optimizes efficiency by having the counter punches of the pistons cancel out each other's vibrations. which puts less stress on the engine.

The Outback stands out from the crowd with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with X-Mode and Hill Descent Control to unmatched traction and control on and off-road. The Outback also comes standard with Active Torque Vectoring, Vehicle Dynamics Control, Brake Assist, Brake Override System, and Traction Control System.
