How Does it Compare to the RAV4, CR-V, and CX-5?

We know that shopping for a new SUV can be daunting at times, but it doesn't have to be when you shop our selection of new Subaru Forester SUVs. Still, there's a lot that goes into selecting the right new SUV, and it begins with quick research to see how the Forester compares to the competition. We've laid out a few differences between the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, and the Subaru Forester.

The Forester vs. the Competition:

  • The Forester costs less than the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Mazda CX-5 base trims do
  • The base trim of the Forester offers Android Auto, while the RAV4 doesn’t on any trim, the CR-V will charge extra for this feature, and the CX-5 offers it on higher, more expensive trim levels
  • For safety suites, the Forester offers the EyeSight Safety System, the RAV4 offers Toyota Safety Sense, Mazda has the i-ACTIVSENSE suite, and Honda offers Honda Sensing, but not all models offer these on the base trim like Subaru does
  • All-wheel drive is standard on the Forester, but in the CR-V, RAV4, and CX-5, it costs you significantly more to equip it than you would spend for a Forester
