USA Today Floored by the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

When it comes to SUVs drivers often have trouble finding the right fit, that's especially true when it comes to the subcompact SUV segment. In this segment SUVs tend to be underpowered, lacking in technology, and just a bit too small for most. That's why it came as a surprise to USA Today when they found the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek fit the bill as "the small SUV to beat." Checking a lot of boxes drivers value in an SUV such as functional size, adequate power, and plenty of features, it's no surprise that they loved the Subaru Crosstrek as much as they did.

They reviewed the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek 2.0i Limited, the top-trim of the model. This model just like every Crosstrek features a 152-horsepower 2.0-liter SUBARU BOXER® four-cylinder engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive. This engine, unlike others, is horizontally opposed, that means that the engine sits lower in the vehicle giving it better control by lowering the center of gravity. The symmetrical all-wheel-drive system found in the Crosstrek is highly advanced and efficient, so efficient in fact that the Crosstrek achieves up to 33 mpg on the highway. Other features of the Crosstrek that receive recognition include adaptive cruise control, the touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the vast 55.3 cubic feet of maximum cargo space.
