We know there are those of you out there that absolutely love the Subaru BRZ, and we know there are also those of you out there that don't think the current BRZ provides quite enough of a performance punch to truly get you excited; well, the Japanese automaker has heard you and they've officially announced the 2018 Subaru BRZ tS! Originally speculated to have the "STI" badge, the BRZ tS will be limited to just 500 units and will be arriving around the country sometime next year.

While the 2018 BRZ tS won't pack more power - its engine is the same 2.0-liter flat-four at 205 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque as the standard BRZ - but will instead increase the driving thrills with improved flexibility, control, and stability thanks to the following aspects:

  • STI-tuned Sachs dampers and coil springs
  • V-braces in the engine compartment
  • Draw stiffeners in the chassis and subframe
  • 18-inch wheels
  • Brembo brakes
  • 215/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires

The BRZ tS will also sport some visual differences from its standard counterpart, such as a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and Cherry Blossom Red accents on the grille and bumper, among others, so you'll have no trouble spotting one - or being spotted, if you're one of the lucky owners! - when it hits the streets in 2018.
